Former Disney executive Dave Hollis, who was also Rachel Hollis' ex-husband and the author of "Girl, Wash Your Face," passed away at the age of 47.

Although the reason for his passing has not yet been established, a family member revealed to TODAY that he had just been hospitalised for heart-related health issues and passed away on February 11 at home in Austin, Texas.

Jackson, Sawyer, Ford, and Noah Hollis, who would have turned 48 on February 14, are Dave Hollis' four surviving children. On Tuesday, February 14, his ex-wife wrote on Instagram to request prayers.

On February 5, Dave Hollis' final Instagram post featured a picture of his daughter Noah fishing and attracted more than 300 condolences from friends and followers.

"My heart is utterly torn. I cherish you, friend. You have motivated countless others as they have watched you handle everything with such a huge heart. With you gone, there will be a huge void, Jenna Kutcher wrote.
